Ranking Member Lofgren Applauds Announcement of Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation Board Members
(WASHINGTON, DC) -- Yesterday, the Department of Energy announced the inaugural board of directors for the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation (FESI).
“FESI has the potential to be a transformational resource as we work to achieve our clean energy future,” said Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (D-CA). “I was a steadfast advocate through the appropriation process this past year for providing the necessary funds to launch this foundation, and I’m delighted to see the board of directors announced this week. FESI was made possible by our CHIPS and Science Act, and FESI will help to fill the gaps in developing and deploying clean energy technologies across the nation by providing a new, independent mechanism for philanthropic and other private funding to substantially contribute to addressing DOE’s critical missions. In carrying out its new activities, the foundation will focus on assisting underrepresented communities to foster participation and ensure all voices and ideas are heard as we work together to reach our clean energy goals. I congratulate the board members on their appointment and look forward to working with the Foundation as it begins its important work.”
